Live In Care Wells

Peace of Mind, Independence and Choice

Cost-effective independent living at any age

You will never be alone in your own home

Getting older, becoming frail, can be very challenging. But that doesn't mean you can't stay in your own home, among familiar surroundings, close to family and friends, perhaps with a much-loved pet.

38+ years experience

Featherbed Homecare is a privately owned Live In Care Agency; the business was established by owner Sally Carpenter in 1986 so we have been providing home care services to self-funded clients in the Bristol area for more than 38 years! We fully understand how important it is for many people to remain in their own home, retaining their independence for as long as possible.

Our wonderful team of skilled, experienced Live In Carers provide the support, companionship, privacy and compassion that people need to enjoy a dignified life at home through old age. They ensure that clients retain control over every day routines and are encouraged and helped to do as much for themselves as possible for as long as they wish.

Featherbed Live In Care compares very favourably with the cost of residential care.

Our live in care services start from £902 per week, while a bed in a residential care facility generally starts at over £1,100 per week.

For two clients requiring care and wishing to remain at home together, to be cared for by their own live in carer, the cost is considerably less than two residential care home fees; please visit Live In Care Costs for information, or contact us with any questions.

How Live In Care can help

Peace of mind that someone is always there for you. Featherbed Live In Carers offer support, companionship and friendship, helping with:

  • Shopping and errands
  • Household tasks such as light housework and laundry
  • Cooking and meal preparation
  • Social activities, trips and visits
  • Family pets

They can also assist with personal care including:

  • Medication
  • Diet management
  • Bathing, shaving, oral care and toileting
  • Dressing
  • Mobility, including moving and transfers

It is important to emphasise that a carer is not a cleaner and, where necessary, the agency suggests that a part time cleaning person is employed separately.

Respite Care

We are able to provide short-term or emergency live in respite carers at any time to help with, for instance:

  • Giving a relative or carer a break or holiday
  • Helping someone returning from hospital after an operation or treatment
  • Emergency cover when a family crisis arises or a regular carer is unavailable
  • Providing a carer or companion to accompany a person on holiday or a short break

Specialist Care

A specialist carer will provide a service tailored to an individual's needs, allowing elderly or vulnerable people to continue living an independent life, whilst ensuring their personal and medical needs are met.

Staying in their own home with a live in carer will offer the reassurance and consistency that is so important to those requiring specialist care, helping them to feel secure and supported.

We have wonderful live in carers who are either qualified in mental health or highly trained and experienced in Dementia and Alzheimer’s, as well as a team of dedicated and compassionate Palliative carers, many of them with nursing backgrounds.

People say the nicest things...

We pride ourselves on the fact that the majority of our clients come to Featherbed through the recommendation of other clients or their families.
