Arranging Care

Our live-in care services are designed to match the right carer with the right client, depending on needs and personality. To do this, we start with a free care assessment to identify the exact requirements for care before arranging the placement.

Care Assessment

When you enquire, we will arrange a free, no-obligation home visit to meet you or your loved one—we can visit your home, hospital, or nursing home.

Our agency care manager will then be able to understand the needs and the level of care required. They will also explain fully how the agency operates and answer any questions you and your loved ones might have.

We will arrange the placement date with you and select a suitable carer. We will ask the carer to contact you directly to arrange an appropriate arrival time.
The agency will confirm the booking.

Care Placement

Live-in Carers are normally booked for 1-4 weeks at a time, but some stay longer depending on your needs.
One of the duties of a carer is keeping a daily care record and noting any concerns or actions taken. This record may be read by the family, GP, District Nurse, or other agencies since good communication and continuity are vital to your welfare.

Featherbed can supply extra carers if a client requires more care during the day or night than initially anticipated.

Before the carer leaves a placement, they will undertake a comprehensive handover to the incoming carer, ensuring continuity of care.

The one problem we had was addressed quickly and effectively, and with that one exception, the carers Featherbed provided were superb - very caring and helpful, totally honest and understanding. Splitting them up after 60yrs of happy marriage would have been unthinkable.  Despite initial reservations my parents quickly accepted live in care and much enjoyed having company in the house. Much credit is due to the carers who were all lovely and very caring . I have no hesitation in recommending Featherbed
